Paola Antonelli on Broken Nature: How Design Helps Us Make Peace with Nature
The Milan Triennale entrusted the curator of the MoMA department of Architecture and Design with its XXII international exhibition.
“Broken Nature”, or how design can help us to reverse the course and re-establish those links with Nature that progress and industrialization have broken. To do this, Paola Antonelli and the Milan Triennale have selected hundreds of restorative design projects and commissioned 4 original works, including “The Room of Change” by another Italian living in New York, Giorgia Lupi. Each nation was invited to set up its own pavilion, in which to offer a response to the proposed theme. Among the projects receiving the highest number of awards are those of Australia, Austria and Russia.
