New York - 14 Febbraio Snapshots of What is Irreparable or Possible in New York: People, Stories and Protests "I want to open the dialog, make my book a tool to break down walls. If I can, I will go back to Italy and shoot there too. This project about HIV was born to give a positive message against fear and terror, which is why I also talk about the importance of PrEP".
Arts - 5 Gennaio Projecting Myself into that Photo of the Amazon of Herculaneum by Mimmo Jodice It’s January 4, 2021. In silence, I happen to come across the visionary magic of the photographs of Mimmo Jodice. I stare enthralled at his 1970s photos, which show him intent on his work. Then I leaf through the images that his attentive, innovative eye has succeeded in capturing: landscapes, places, identity, history, culture, research, […]

Arts - 2 Gennaio A Journey Through Humanity With Steve McCurry’s Time Machine I visited Italy for the first time in 1970. Italy is so full of Art. Italians care about Art, beauty and style, and they care about their past…That’s why we all love Italy so much. What interests me is what you see in my pictures. Human behaviors, telling a great human story. It’s photographing the world and trying to show the commonality of humanity… The most important element in my photography is storytelling. Most of my images are grounded in people. In my portraiture, I look for that unguarded moment and try to convey some part of what it is like to be that person, or in a broader sense, to relate their life to the human experience as a whole.

Arts - 1 Ottobre 2020 Vincenzo Pietropaolo: Italian-Canadian Photographer Turns His Lens on Injustice “I wanted to show two things with my camera: the things that had to be appreciated, and the things that had to be corrected. Photography reveals beauty and truth. And truth sometimes is not very pleasant. I learned about the power of the camera when I was trying to take pictures in a garment factory on Spadina Avenue in Toronto. Because the owners were afraid that the camera could witness and record something that wasn’t right—like unsafe working conditions-- they made it almost impossible for me. If I had not become a photographer I would have been a human rights lawyer.”
