The Flying Whale: Chasing Stories, Art and Culture Between Italy and America

Caterina Monda explains, "It all started with a reflection with my mother about the multiculturalism present in our family. I spent many years in New York, and now I live in Milan. My mother, Jacqueline Greaves, is Jamaican, and my father is Italian. We went from how multicultural Italy is and how it is connected to America in many ways, and we decided to tell stories. Cultures, backgrounds and diversity are the key. At a time when we were all locked up reading again and writing again, I found myself doing much research and I developed a strong need to tell stories."

Caterina Monda spiega: "Tutto parte da una riflessione con mia madre sulla multiculturalità presente nella nostra famiglia. Io sono stata molti anni a New York e ora vivo a Milano, mia madre Jacqueline Greaves è giamaicana e mio padre è italiano. Siamo partiti da quanto l'Italia sia multiculturale e legata all'America sotto numerosi aspetti, e abbiamo deciso di raccontare delle storie. Culture, backgrounds, la diversità è fondamentale. In un momento in cui eravamo tutti chiusi e limitati, presi a leggere di nuovo, scrivere di nuovo, mi sono ritrovata a fare molta ricerca e ho maturato una grande necessità di raccontare".
